Sri Ganesha (The Elephant God) is the Lord for all good beginnings
and successful outcomes. In addition to being my favourite deity, Lord Ganesha has always intrigued the artist in me. HIS form is the easiest yet sophisticated to
recreate - from the traditional Tanjore paintings to modern abstract art, from
a spectrum of colours to three plain leaves, HE is everywhere. So, when I
decided to get into the art of Quilling full-time it was natural for me to begin with a Jai
Sri Ganesh.
When I started researching for this project I came across plenty of colourful and beautifully quilled creations. All of them very inspiring. As much as I loved them and wanted them all, the artist in me refused to recreate another artist’s work. And that is how I zeroed in on this stencil.
It all sounded very simple and straightforward in my head, but
the execution was not so much! With plenty of planning and re-planning the
stencil transformed into a beautiful quilled creation.
